Welcome to an althist designed to hopefully create a realistic scenario regarding UK's decolonisation (and a little bit of other countries). There is one significant point of divergence early in the 20th century, but it shouldn't affect other parts of the world at all. The major differences occur after WW2 and during the Cold War.
Basically, I got interested in making this sort of timeline because I read about two interesting proposals: A Maltese UK integration referendum which failed by an extremely small margin just because of unsufficent attendance in the 1950s and a proposal by the British governor of Hong Kong in the early 20th century to trade Weihaiwei for a permanent cession of the New Territories.
I'm not sure how I'll work out all the details yet, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to shoot them my way.
