The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall contain 13 stars forming a circle in the middle of which shall be placed the symbol known as the American Cross on a blue field (see attachment).

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag:
- "I pledge sole alliegance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic by way of its government for which it stands; One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and the rule of law for all",
should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right arm fully extended toward the flag with the palm facing down. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it toward the flag. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.
