The Game

2008.25

Weapons of mass destruction formerly in the hands of the nation of India begin to be recovered by the Hindustani Union government. It is discovered that a handful of nuclear weapons still remain in the hands of other nations and local warlords in the Indian subcontinent, while others are unaccounted for.

A Hewa Bora Airways DC-9 crashes into a residential area of Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to the director of the RVA, the number one engine caught fire after three hundred meters. The fire developed into an uncontained engine failure.

A rare, eastward moving at low-latitude strong tropical cyclone hits southeast Asia. Known as Cyclone Nargis, the storm becomes the deadliest natural disaster since the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, killing over 133,000 in Burma/Myanmar.

Over 69,000 are killed in central south-west China by the Wenchuan quake, an earthquake measuring 7.9 Moment magnitude scale. The epicenter is 90 km (56 mi) west-northwest of the provincial capital Chengdu, Sichuan province.

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, kills 12 and injures more than 400.

Typhoon Fengshen hits the Philippines and capsizes the ferry MV Princess of the Stars, leaving hundreds dead or missing.

Japan: Japan continues to build up the Self Defense Forces and infrastructure is improved. Some of the Maritime Self Defense Force still continues to patrol around Japan. Synthpop, Electro, Techno, and Trance continue to rise in popularity. The Republic of Kyushu continues to rebuild the island. Tatsunori Katsumata and ZUN continues creating the next Touhou game, Undefined Fantastic Object. Chihei Hatakeyama's radio show/station, "A State of Trance" rises in popularity. The Self Defense Forces remain on high alert throughout Japan and the Republic of Kyushu. And clean up continues for those affected by the earthquake and the train incident, and begins aid and clean up for those affected by the recent earthquake. Nico Nico Douga rises in popularity.

Oceania: The flag proposals are scrapped and an opinion poll is held for those in Indonesia who want independence. The polls are around 40% yes and 60% no, many claiming that the cultures are too different, while others claim that the Australian first world economy has helped Indonesia a lot, Indonesia 2009 will be a big descision for the people of Indonesia. Re-assures Indonesian civil rights and recognition in federal legislature. All member states are also re-assured their rights and recognition. Jervis bay begins to see some urbanization. Begins to secretly reverse-engineer the M-16A1, creating a variant rifle. Development and work continue. New research shows that the chemical from poison ivy, combined with raw vodka as an antiseptic, may work to kill the Zombie virus entirely. Jakarta and other formerly slum-riddled cities in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea are now well-maintained neighbourhoods.

Mongolia: We are ready to launch our satellite and are sending it to Russia for launch sequence. We are asking Japan for Trade Rights and an Alliance. We have added 500 more troops to our army.

• Japan Diplomacy: Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi accepts Mongolia's trade deal and alliance offer.
• Chinese Diplomacy: We accept Mongolia's trade deal and alliance offer.

Ethiopia: We recruit 5000 more soldiers. With Galaid's remaining forces on the run and his capture/death innevitable, we begin to pull our forces out of occpied Somalia. The Somali government, through revisions and talks, has joined the East African Alliance (EAA). They will control their own government, economy and military in exchange for an alliance for the interest of Africa, both military forces will co-operate, but commanded by their respective branches. The EDT-Hyena has proved effective, we produce more totaling 30 EDT-Hyenas. We continue to improve and influence Kenya, in hopes of them joining the EAA.

Russia: Development continues of the SS-N-60 Starscream anti-ship cruise missile in which many tests are successful, being able to rip apart a ship's super-structure as well as causing callateral damage to ships around it. Mongolia's satellite shuttle has arrived at the Russian Federation by the use of air transport using an An-225 Mriya.. The shuttle has successfully launched and delivered the satellite into space. We will sell the two Mi-24 Hinds to Mongolia for $50,000,000. Our navy is upgraded to 4.75.

Philippines: Smaller riots in our nation turn into organised militias and military is sent in to resolve the issue. Many civilians are for the change in government and the estimated amount of people wanting the change has gone from 15% to 46%. Our government is currently reviewing if we should have a change in government. We have discovered that the change is also motivated by a lack of community and regional descissions. Our military has intercepted some people that are for the change called the Philippine Interlink Government. The "Interlink" is from the idea that a large group of people discuss the issue and come to an agreement and no one generally represents a certain area. When we discovered some of the Interlink bases, some info came out of many planned terrorist attacks. In particular, ones planned against our government buildings. It is sayed that an Interlink government would be similar to a first world dictatorship. The military and highten security eats into our budget. Industry improves by 0.25

Federation of Arabia: Gold continues to be mined in the Cradle of Gold for use as "Currency Bonds" to keep up with increasing popularity. The agricultural reforms for the Federation continue to be successful, further stabilizing crop prices and reducing importation and reliance on foreign agriculture. Oman's agriculture yield continues to grow, slowly but strongly.  Influence continues on Egypt, the Somali government. Influence continues on Sudan. We begin to patrol Somaliland, searching for the warlord while our soldiers also try to keep the peace in the region. The Stop and Frisk law is adopted by Saudi Arabia. Talks continue in the Federation for turning it into an Islamic Republic and now the UIC, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain are in favor of the proposition, while the other nations are either unsure or not in favor of it. We offer to return our area recaptured for Somalia, and offer for them to join the Federation of Arabia. Due to the current political and militant climate in the former Balkan Alliance, the Federal government seeks to expand its power and members by making an offer to the pro-EHU government of Turkey.

1. We will send weapons, supplies, and soldiers to Turkey and any other assistance they need to achieve a set goal: To regain their lost provinces and cities from the former Balkan nations.
2. We only ask that if they agree to do this, they will join the Federation of Arabia.

RoC: The 17th satellite is sent into space. We give Korea some of our satellite and spacecraft plans due to our space co-operation. We unify with the inner provinces of Chongqing, Shizhuang, Gangshu, Ningxia and Qinghai. We start building a large dam over the Yangtze River. We continue constructing a huge city in Shizhuang to promote people moving in. Our army now reaches 1,500,000 men, who are trained vigorously. We build five Black Hawk-10's. We begin using our large population to produce cheap industrial goods and exporting them. Work begins on the large dam over the Yangtze River and also a large solar farm in Gangshu. We ask for an alliance with the Republic of California. We ask UR, Russia, New Commonwealth and Korea for a space operation named Operation:Terraform.

Chan Santa Cruz: After a period of isolationism (Mscoree, where were you? I know you got blocked for the last few days but ...) the government comes back you again. With the treaty of Culican signed several years ago the people become less antagonistic toward Mexico. In a special ceromoney, with the setting up of a vast stella, the War of Successsion is declared over. We are no longer at war with Mexico, as we had been since 1849.

Republic of California: Accepts the alliance with the RoC. Embassies are put on high alert. The motion picture industry continues to flourish. A new game, called Assassin's Creed, was released by Ubisoft, one of the handful of gaming companies that survived the Zombie apocalypse in California, was released. This video game could bring California into competition with the American Confederation, although diplomatically peaceful.

Republic of Pennsylvania: The government begins to withdrawal from Somalia. Some of the terror attacks are traced to the Erie Communist Party. SWAT raids one of te meetings, and arrests 18 members. Sniper rifles, assault rifles, ammunition, grenades, and military explosives are all siezed. The men claim tey were preparing for the nuclear apocalypse.

Germany: The Schengen Area is approved and people from all over the European Union begin using the resolution to cross into our borders. Trade and tourism from fellow European Union nations rise as people move freely across the border. The nations of Poland, Bohemia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Hungary begin the organization's process toward ascension. We continue upgrading army and navy capabilities, increasing our naval score by 0.25. The recently built Habsburg-class aircraft carriers; the Karl von Habsburg, the Maria Theresa, the Charles the Hammer, Großdeutschland, the Vienna, the Franz Joseph, and the Schönbrunn Palace are placed into carrier battle groups and stationed along Germany’s coast. Eleven more Tirpitz-class destroyers and fifteen Type 212 submarines are produced. Shipyards from earlier times are reopened and upgraded to fit modern ships. We continue to influence Malta, Croatia and the new Swiss regime. We agree to help finance or build a Dutch aircraft carrier.

Hindustani Union: We continue expanding our military to help combat small pockets of infection and crime in our nation. Our capital city of Kolkata is fortified and rebuilt, hoping to create a modern capital city. Other cities are also expanded, and we begin building new roads between them, patrolled by our soldiers, largely cutting back on localized crime. A new police force is created with government funds hoping to create a more stable and reliable defense against terrorism and organized crime. Large housing developments are set up for those displaced by the apocalypse. We also begin putting money toward sanitation to clean up our cities’ streets. Ruined areas of the city are demolished and replaced with better housing. Defenses are also incorporated into the city layout. We send portions of our military into the southern reaches of the country to secure most of the subcontinent. We upgrade our industry by 0.25.

Switzerland: Feeling secure from the aid the European Union and our other allies have provided in the past years, we temporarily demobilize all forces and cut back on military spending. Production of military vehicles and weapons are cut back slightly. We agree to Germany’s plan for the Schengen Area, and are happy to add more nations to the European Union. More focus is put toward infrastructure.New factories are built, increasing our industrial score by 0.25. Our many universities and technical schools continue to be popular among Europeans. In addition to this there our various Universities of Applied Sciences are invested in. Our business and management studies universities; University of St. Gallen, (HSG) and International Institute for Management Development (IMD), begin to become regarded as some of the best in Europe. Alternative fuels are invested in, with a goal of reaching less dependency on foreign or fossil fuels. Within a few years we expect our total amount of electricity generated to be 56% from hydroelectricity, 39% from nuclear power. We begin moving toward this goal, further removing all use of fossil fuels. Wind turbines from Germany and other nations are also used. The proton beam is circulated for the first time in the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator, located at CERN, near Geneva, under the Franco-Swiss border.

Congo: Regional governments are reformed in the Central African Republic and the Republic of the Congo, with local officials being elected. We send aid to the former South African territories ravaged by war, rebuilding some cities that were destroyed. Large mines are opened across the country, controlled and protected by the government. Our diamond and colton yields increase heavily. Modern techniques are used to begin paving roads in all major cities and over old highways, helping to increase transportation within the Congo. Railroad tracks are also laid, including a newly refurbished line from Lubumbashi to Kindu, and other cities. We demand that all citizens attend schooling, helping to increase our literacy scores. Newer schools are also constructed, with each town required to have a school for children between the ages of six and twelve, and most larger towns having a secondary school. Our industry score is increased by 0.25.

United States: United States: Our 100,000 soldiers continue to oversee the development of democratic nations in Africa. Humanitarian aid continues to be distributed, and houses are rebuilt. Ten Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and twelve Seawolf-class submarines are built, increasing our naval score by 0.25. Stock markets around the world plunge amid growing fears of a U.S. recession, fueled by the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis.

Following the signatures of Chan Santa Cruz and the state of Mexico, the Treaty of Culiacán is ratified. All hostilities between the two states greatly diminish. The border is officially established around the city of Mexico City.

The offer from the Federation of Arabia is accepted by the government of Turkey in secret. Turkey begins secretly influencing pro-Turkish political parties in Thrace, causing a schism between the Thracian separatist groups. Most rebels still remain in favor of independence, seeing the Turkish as another imposing empire. A separate group known as the Thracian Party for Turkish Freedom and Co-operation becomes heavily popular in Istanbul, where Turkish tanks and other equipment have fallen into the hands of the rebellion.

After an extremely costly campaign in northern Greece and Macedonia, which eventually developed into a tense occupation and stalemate, the nation of Bulgaria pulls out from the southern Balkans. The Northern Greek Conference declares the action a Greek victory, celebrating in northern Greece. Resources are instead turned toward the front in Bosnia. Bulgaria begins petitioning for peace.

A total eclipse of the Sun is visible from Canada and extends across northern Greenland, the Arctic, central Russia, Mongolia, and China.

A series of seven bomb blasts rock Bangalore, India, killing two and injuring 20; the next day, a series of bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, kills 45 and injures over 160 people. A stampede at a Hindu temple at Naina Devi in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India, kills 162 and injures 400.

Hurricane Ike makes landfall on Texas as Category 2 and kills 27 in the United States, after killing four in Cuba, one in the Dominican Republic, and 75 in Haiti.

Elections occur in several nations currently reconstructing stable governments after the wake of the African War. Progress also continues in rebuilding areas ravaged by war.

The Netherlands: A terrorist attack happens on the Netherlands version of the CDC.

July 4th: Two men with Ak-47s are seen sneaking around the Dutch version of the CDC in Limburg Province.

July 5th 12:00 midnight: After a night in prison and two hours of questioning the men are released.

July 5th 3:00 PM: Security is doubled there.

July 6th 6:00 AM: A bomb is set off right by the wall of the Dutch CDC. A series of 12 men run in killing eight. The building is secured by the terroists.

July 6th 12:00 midnight: The safe where the Zombie virus is held for researching is broken into by the men and they injecte it each of them.

July 6th 3:00 PM: A five mile radius around that building is quarantined.

The Netherlands asks help from any nation that can help. Also a city called North Venice is made. Industry is upgraded by 0.25. Belgium: Navy is upgraded by 0.25. France: Army is upgraded by 0.25.

Oceania: Bravo Group, one of the two Elite Groups of the Special Forces of the Royal Oceanian Armed Forces, is dispatched, numbering around 500 elite soldiers, is dispatched to the dutch CDC. The government states that they are doing this to prevent the spread of the virus, even on a minor scale. Research continues and extensive tests are being run. Navy upgraded 0.25.

Philippines: A massive move of people crush through the government building and many surrounding buildings are damaged. Our government finally gives in to the Interlink government and the change is made. A council of elite owners are made and many hanges are made to regional areas. Some missiles silos were destroyed and even detonated, in particular, in the Southern part of our nation. We accept Oceania's 15,000 soldiers and an embassy. More riots break out for both sides of the rovolution. The old government still looks strong, though, and has a large amount of military. We still don't consider this a successful change in government as the change was made in a confined area. More minor terrorsit attacks had happened and we continue to stop our military from open firing. We ask other nations to help out the old government.

• Republic of California Dip: We grant asylum to the old government, and sent a submarine to rescue the president, and we are glad to give you Daly City (which has a sizeable Filipino diaspora) to be administered by the old government.

Saudi Arabia and Israel still oppose it; Saudi Arabia because they fear a loss of power with the equalization of all member nations, and Israel because they wish to go no further into friendliness with their conquerors. We begin to send numerous small shipments of ARA-21 Bullpups, MES Sniper Rifles, Type-64 Tanks, Big Zaydi Artillery Vehicles, Type-92 Tanks, Queztel Bombers, B-52 Bombers, and finally Russian MiG bombers and fighters. These shipments are disguised as steel shipments as they are disassembled into various pieces that would need re-assembly once shipped. Federation engineers and workers go to Turkey on a work visa so that they can be re-assembled in Turkey. The reason for all the secrecy and discrepency is because of the belief that if the Balkan nations found out about the Federations arming of Turkey publically, they would find a reason to reunite, dragging on the planned conflict.

Republic of California: Following the conflict in the Philippines, we sent 15,000 soldiers and the RCS Black Bear to rescue the old government. The plan is to land the soldiers on the coastal area of Ilocos. Agriculture and the motion picture industry continues to prosper.

Chan Santa Cruz: Aid is sent to both Haiti and Texas. Influence of Honduras and El Salvador continues. We are pleased that the Mexican government have dropped their hostility and propose free travel either way, if proof of citizenship is seen. (Like EU open borders) We Apply to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Industry is upgraded by 0.25 with the economy booming due to construction and tourism.

Cuba: high ranking terrorists that were arrested are executed. The rest are sent to high security prisons. Troops are sent to keep the peace in the Netherlands.

Neo-Mughal Empire: All operations continue.

Following the Mughal settlement on Zanzibar, a group of African rebels is forced to declare war to retake their homeland. An army is gathered in Dar es Salaam while supplies are collected, and in this meantime the Mughals manage to establish a functioning government on the island. Finally about 5,000 soldiers are launched by boat to assault the island. The attackers launch a costly assault on the island's city making landfall near Mtoni.

I object to this mod event. As I said in my previous posts, the Mughal troops were only there to faciliate the reconstruction and re-establishment of the islands and its government. It is pratically the same as the Coalition troops occupying former South Africa.

I changed it accordingly. 

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake in Kazakhstan strikes on 6 October 2008 at 21:52 local time (15:52 UTC) killing 75 people, including 41 children, and injuring 150 people, including 93 children. The center of the earthquake was near the town of Nura, which was destroyed in the quake.

The 2008 Santa Catarina floods in Santa Catarina, Brazil, kill 126 and force the evacuation of over 78,000 people.

The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda convicts Théoneste Bagosora and two other senior Rwandan army officers of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes and sentences them to life imprisonment.

Thracian counter revolutionaries armed with Turkish weaponry gain full control over the city of Istanbul and the surrounding area. The Thracian government is forced to surrender, although Thracian resistance continues in Eastern Bulgaria. Bulgaria continues petitioning for peace.

NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft makes its second of three flybys of Mercury, decreasing the velocity for orbital insertion on March 18, 2011. In November Barack Obama is elected the President of the United States, and becomes the first African-American President-elect. 100,000 soldiers from the Channel League are sent into the Netherlands to aid against the Zombie outbreak.

He promises to reduce the role of the federal government, and increase the role of local governments. He also plans to help repair the damaged environment, after years of wars with Zombies and humans. The capital is moved to Flagstaff, as Farmington was devastated in the rebellions. Bethesda, after a long delay, releases the Elder Scrolls IV: Argonia. It is set in the provinces of Black Marsh, Morrowind, and Cyrodiil. It chronicles the attempt of the reptillian Argonians to make an independent nation in southeast Tamriel. It is released on Warchief's PC and Valve's newly released Steam Box, or SBox for short.

Philippines: We capture the leaders of the Interlink government and out them into a high security prison. Many of the people who were following the Interlink government were paying others to join their group and were using lies to persuade a revolution against our government. The riots had come at a heafty toll and people are still very upset witht his government but people for the Interlink government have dramatically reduced. Many new regional installments in Interlink areas have been made and some towns and internetgroups still classify themselves as being part of the Interlink. Being a member of helping the Interlink is now illegal in the Philippines. We continue to send a lot of our military to capture members of the Interlink. The death toll so far is 25,000 civilians and 500 military personnel. Military weapons and tanks have been used against the riots but our military had never open fired on the people. We had only used smoke and flash bangs. The Interlink had admitted to many terrorist attcks including the one on our house of representatives. We thank other nations for supplying aid and military during this time.

RoC: The 17th satellite is sent into space. We give Korea some of our satellite and spacecraft plans due to our space co-operation. The African rebels land on the northern end of Zanzibar, killing several dozen people and engaging the Mughal army. The rebels manage to continue their advance toward the city, eventually reaching the entrenched positions of the Mughals. It is believed that a local terrorist organization and insurgency group was likely involved, known as the East African Freedom Court.

With the UK becoming a large neutral base and benefitting from the trade with joined ew commonwealth economy the UK's industry is upgraded by 0.25. The UK with the world stabilizing decides to decrease its military strength to 1.1 million men flat leaving 100,000 men in the overseas bases. and with the other million dispersed between the bases under construction and the formed Channel fleet, Atlantic fleet, and North/Baltic Sea fleet. 

Republic of California: After several years of turmoil, the Republic finally defeats rebels, Rezzurectionists, Communists, and other people of that sort, and secured control over the country. We ask the Philippines if we could retain a part of the coast of OTL Ilocos as a base for colonizing Zombie-infested territories in the Malay Peninsula. We accept the alliance with the RoC. Also asks for a trade agreement with the American Confederation, and start talks with them concerning the disposal of the Nevada region.

Culturally different from Australia or New Zealand, the new nation hopes to form its own identity in the international community. The western half of New Guinea votes to not rejoin Indonesia. The belligerents of the Balkan Crisis sign the Treaty of Athens, officially dissolving the Balkan Alliance. The region of Thrace is returned to Turkey, while Kosovo is released from Serbia.

It is discovered that members of the Turkish government are in the pocket of the Federation of Arabia, causing several high ranking officials to attempt a coup. The population, which is against the Federation of Arabia, supports the coup, and several units of the military storm the capital in Ankara.

A biological weapon is detonated in the Russian city of Volgograd, causing massive damage around the city. Several thousand civilians are killed, while thousands more are infected. It is believed that the weapon was smuggled into Russia from the Middle East, possibly from a closed down facility in Iran. The infection spreads from the city.

Russia: After a recent outbreak at Volgograd a state of national emergency has been declared. About 50,000 troops from the Caucasus have been called out from the reserves. APCs and tanks from the 58th Army were then sent into the city of Volgograd, surrounding it on all sides. Troops were soon ordered to charge into the city facing light infectious resistance while APCs and helicopters were able to clear out streets and small buildings. Within a month the city was cleared of infection. Military police in towns around Volgograd have spotted the infection in light numbers which were easy to take out. About 2,000,000 troops from the reserves have been called out and are now taking military policing roles in every metropolitan area. However, the GRU and the FSB have started investigating into tracing the origin of the bomb, finding out its place of creation was an abondoned military factory in Iran. Within two days Spetsnaz were soon called out and raided the building finding blueprints for bombs and other materials that were soon confiscated.

I can't cross anything out since I am not a mod, but you can't just go around willy-nilly putting NPN (Non-player nations) into alliances. You have never posted that you influenced them, and you are Coptic Christian, they are Muslim. Also, taking down the warlord doesn't count as influence, because you took their land, which made relations almost completely die around WWII between Somalia and Ethiopia when almost the same thing happened. An earthquake and consequent tsunami off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, kills over 400 people and leaves hundreds missing. Repeated eruptions of Mount Merapi volcano in Central Java, Indonesia, and accompanying pyroclastic flows of scalding gas, pumice, and volcanic ash descending the erupting volcano kill three hundred people and force hundreds of thousands of residents to evacuate.

Oceania: Withdraws from the Netherlands seeing as the situation has cleared up. Sends more economic support to Indonesia. The medicine that has been worked on for several years now is in final testing stages. We request samples of Zombie specimens from foreign nations, so we can test the medicne on it. It is stated that it should work on all known strains of the virus. Declares neutrality globally and will retaliate harshly if attacked. Will only support New Commonwealth Allies. Upgrades industry 0.25.

Russia: Forces in Iran have captured South African Special Forces units attempting to steal biological weapon blueprints in the old military facility that it was first made at, even though the blueprints were already confiscated. An embargo is placed on South Africa and we ask the United States, the European Union, and NATO to intervene in the case of war. Officials at the State Duma and the Federal Assembly begin to vote and discuss the possibility of declaring war on South Africa again for invading an ally/vassal of the Russian Federation. Several Typhoons-Class Ballistic Missile Submarines and Lada-Class Attack Submarines are stationed around the South-Western portion of the Indian Ocean. Aid from the European Union is permitted if they're willing to help against the virus in the Southern Caucasus.

Burma: Construction of the Space Gun is on schedule and all is going well in the country, even though the Zombie threat is pretty much extinct we are still training the anti-Zombie squad in case of an emergency.
