The United Austrian States (more commonly known as Austria or the UAS) is a federal parliamentary republic in Europe. It is comprised of a union of 15 states (also known as republics) and 14 smaller autonomous enclaves. The nation was originally united in 1802 into the Austrian Empire and eventually Austria-Hungary in 1867. After the July Crisis, the nation was reformed into the United Austrian States, each state divided by ethnic groups.
