90's(1990-1999), His aggressive marketing decisions during his time at Sega, such as price drops, attacking Nintendo, and the famous "Sega Scream" TV campaign, are often cited as key elements in the success of the Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn, he was one of the indirect responsible of the creation of Sonic as Sega Official Mascot and direct Rival of Nintendo's Mario.

Tom Kaliskea was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (who also has an MBA from the University of Arizona) and former president of Mattel, he become CEO of Sega of America after the former CEO Michael Katz, was unable to won a significant market share against the five year old Nintendo Entertainment System, and he quickly become both famous and infamous for his strategy against Nintendo,that the competition needed to be humbled, ridiculed, and portrayed as having the inferior product, who make him a direct rival of Nintendo of America CEO Howard Lincoln.
He later pushed both Genesis ADD-ON, Sega-CD and 32X, and when both Add-on were considered failure, he decided to prepared for the launch of the New Generation Hardware: The Sega Saturn.
Using a similar Strategy and a major launch in America, the Saturday in September 22 in 1995, the Saturn Slowly won a foothold in the market and become a even more difficult rival to Nintendo both in America and Japan.

Later he was one who push the merger with Bandai and a chance for reenter the portable market, but both plans were abandoned and he later decided to resign as Sega CEO after being in the charge for almost a Decade.
He was replaced by Peter Moore as Sega of America CEO.
After his career with Sega he become the Executive Chairman of Global Education Learning, a company dedicated to improving education in China.
