The Scandian Republic (Norse: Republiken Svenoras) is a platonic socialist republic in Europe, the only European country besides Rome. A small country by international standards, Scandinavia is one of the most ethnically homogeneous states.
An early member of the race to the New World, it has substantial colonies in North Columbia, and uniquely controls the landmass of Groenland. The Norse people are spread over many lines of longitude, but know only a small variety of climates - namely, a subarctic environment.
A region named Scandinavia in Latin is the Nordic homeland, where the Viking people swept into Europe raiding Roman ships and towns. Once the Vikings organized into a cohesive state, their desire to plunder was replaced with a need to discover resources and trade.
