Military[]

The military has 65,200 active soldiers, and 17,500 reserve soldiers between the five branches of the armed forces. The Army and Navy are the largest branches, while the Special Forces and Marine Corps are the smallest. The government Department of the Interior operates the Argentine National Gendarmerie and the Argentine Coast Guard for national defense and search and rescue.

The Army is the primary ground force of the military. They are equipped with a variety of weapons. There are 41,500 active soldiers and 10,000 reserve soldiers in the Army.

Air National Gendarmerie[]

The Air National Gendarmerie is the civil defense for Argentina, in support of the air force, and for point defense of various military installations.
