The Republic of Malaya (Chinese: 馬來民國 Mǎ lái Mínguó, Malay: Republik Melayu) was a state in Southeast Asia that lasted between 1947 and 1953, when it annexed Indonesia, Brunei, and East Timor. It occupied the present-day peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, and Borneo.
