The native, intelligent species of Luna, the Lunans (pronounced luːnɪnz, luːnʌnz or luːnənz), along with Humans, are the most intelligent species in the known universe. The term was coined by president Richard Nixon, derived from "Luna" and "humans." Modern Lunans originated in several different lands, most notably Sciens about 550 years ago, reaching full behavioral modernity around 500 years ago.

Different species[]
Unlike humans, there are two different types of species of lunans. Earth's classification of these two intelligent species are Lunan Type-A and Lunan Type-B. They are both slightly taller than humans, both averaging out to 6 feet, 8 inches in height to cope with the gravity one-thirds that of Earth's and share similar body parts to humans (arms, legs, hands, sex organs, etc.) They both have a lighter bone structure to be as agile as possible, not unlike chimpanzees on Earth. But Lunan Type-Bs have different skin types (As have blue, black and white while Bs have blue, black and orange,) different ears that are pointier for better hearing, thicker skin to live in the coldest of conditions when the Sun isn't facing them for 14 days, (which they soon shed) and reproduce much differently. Instead of reproductive organs (like humans or Lunan Type-As,) they have reproductive tails instead. The two tails are placed into each other and the fluids travel to the appropriate places for childbirth. The tails can be easily moved to the side or under the legs for easier sexual access.
However, this tail can also be used for Lunan Type-Bs to communicate at a neural level if wrapped around each other. Information can be transferred, questioned and answered with the aid of one or more people. This can then be used for three, four, five, or even a whole tribe of lunans to share information. Using this way of life, Lunan Type-B's advanced far more faster than Lunan Type-A's and even humans, learning new information and ways of life much faster than humans ever could.

First lunans and tribes[]
Lunans didn't evolve from smaller lifeforms, like humans did with primates. Scientists have discovered they first lived in the ocean until they discovered land. Lunan Type-As formed on the near side of the moon, while the Lunan Type-Bs formed on the far side of the moon.
The first tribe is assumed to have started about 500 years ago when Lunan Type-As discovered that there were more of the same kind. Many stuck together sharing what little knowledge they had. Together they had created a primitive language, and called themselves "Walkula," which rougly translates into the "Star Tribe," that lived on a small island in the Ocean of Life. They had learned how to kill wild game to cook and eat, created tools, and even made their own religion, the only one in Lunar history. Their religion states that each lunan male were all descendants of God and they implant their seed to fulfill their reason for being placed on Luna. The high priests believed the rest of Luna should be "implanted with their godly seed" for every inhabitant of Luna would be part God, so the men soon started exploring new lands after they noticed tree bark could be used to create boats.
Colonialism[]
It was years later when the Wakula tribe met with a migrating Lunan Type-B tribe that ideas of life would change. The Lunan Type-Bs and Type-As shared what little information they had as well as they could and eventually made one dual-species civilization. They had combined their languages and ways of life and were the far-most advanced civilization on Luna. The population of the new tribe, Zequeli, was quickly growing. There was not enough land on the coast for all of them to live in, so Lunan Type-As started colonizing the north pole, Merkili (lit. "North").

With the large amounts of lunans living in the new "country" Zequeli and its new colony Merkili, communication and transportation within their country was key. A meeting with the Lunan Type-Bs made lunans discover they could use a winged animal, the "bartazu" as a way to travel around their newly formed territories.
A large problem was the scarcity of these winged creatures. After a few years, Lunan Type-Bs discovered they could make a machine similar to the bartuzu. Their attempt was unsuccessful, and many decided they should try land-based transportation devices. It was a 12 years later that the first automobile-looking transportation device was created.

After the discovery of travelling into space, Lunan Type-Bs were anxious to travel to the planet they were rotating around for centuries, Earth. This mission, known by lunans as "Nuwathi Querta" (English: Operation Earth), sent two lunans, Wel Tarlin and Guern Piku to be sent to Earth. Their original plan was to send the two astronauts to a small uninhabited area of Earth not to disturb any Earthlings. The mission was a failure, however, as the ship was too heavy because Earth's gravity was too great.
