The Mauryan Empire survived Ashoka.
History[]
The Maurya Empire was established after their first Emperor named Chandragupta, who was, according to legend, a childhood friend of Alexander the Great, began to expand from the Northern part of the Peninsula and into the areas above the Hindu Kush. After his father's death (Emperor Bindusara) the emperor later known as Ashoka the Great, would drive the Maurya to its glory and then convert to the Buddhist faith.
After Ashoka's death, his son Mahinda, (in OTL a Monk) became his successor after abandoning its Vows.
