This is a List of Presidents of New England. The President of the Commonwealth of New England is the head of state and the head of government of New England. As chief of the executive branch and head of the federal government as a whole, the Presidency is the highest political official position in the United States by influence and recognition. Despite the President being the highest office, most power is centered on the Prime Minister. With the president dealing with mostly military affairs. The President is directly elected to a four year term by an election since 1940.
