The United States presidential election of 1992 was the 52nd quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 3, 1992. Incumbent President George H. W. Bush lost re-election to Governor Mario Cuomo of New York.

In spite of his hesitation, Cuomo decided to run and was met with tough competition. Despite this, he pulled through and chose his rival, Clinton to be his running mate.
