Shogunate of Finland is a nation in Europe. It is bordered by Russia to the right, and Denmark below it/to the left. It also used to have a small border with Hanthawaddy on the top. For many years, Finland had been ruled over Sweden, Russia or both until 1889. As of 1889, Finland is re-declared and has rule over some of former Sweden.

Finland is still in the Feudal Era, and despite the many roads, railways, and advancement in technology; not many Finns use kurumás and most mainly rely on rail transport or biking. There is also not much factories in Finland, and CO2 is not much of a problem in Finland thanks to most of the forests being preserved. Pollution is also not much of a problem either. With it's continuous Feudal-like policies, Finland is one of the cleanest and least-polluted nations on Earth.

Most of the Finns still wear traditional Finnish and Japanese clothing, though suits are worn in businesses and politicians. With the rise of Anime and Manga conventions, Cosplay has become a popular thing for the Finns.

History[]

Finland, throughout most of its history, was between Russian (1420-1708) and Swedish (1552-1708) rule and before that, Kalmar Union (1420-1552) and Russia. A successful uprising happened in 1708, and soon Finland became independent in 1708. Vietnam has also sent financial aid to Finland to help create resources and also done a trade agreement with Finland. Naples has done the same as well, also sending aid to help Finland. Soon, in 1714, the nobles of Sweden begun to invade Finland. Also in 1714, Finland joined Russia in a Union as the Autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland. Eventually, in 1715, the Swedish nobles and military had smashed into Finland for a fight. At the same time, Finland also sets up a post/colony along where OTL Díli, East Timor would be and it is called Hyvinkää. In 1717, the Swedish nobles were pushed out of Finland and the war ended in 1718.

Then, in 1742, Finland founded another post/colony, located where the established where OTL Paramushir island is and the colony is called Valkeakoski. Valkeakoski colony was then given to Nippon in 1755 and in return, the Nipponese allowed Finland to have a trading port in the city of Kōchi. Later in 1761, Finland established a colony on OTL Sulawesi, and the colony is called Kōshi, though the colony got re-established in 1766.

Asian finnish maiden

The modern Suomi-neito.

In 1774, a Finnish artist drew a lady with black/dark brown hair, dark red eyes, red and white dress, red bow tied to her hair, and holding a gohei which was adopted as a national personification of Finland, and soon became named the Suomi-neito [Finnish Maiden].

Finland also experienced one of the worst blizzard in 1783. In 1788, Finn musician wrote a national anthem for Finland which got accepted by the Finnish government.

Later, in 1789, Finland got tired of war again and had declared independence as Shogunate of Finland, which lasted a few hours before joining with France becoming the Autonomous Shogunate of Finland. Most of the Finns who were loyal to Russia (which includes most of the Finnish government except for the Pääministeri) fled to Russia. Finland then was brought into a confederation with Sweden, also as Autonomous Shogunate of Finland.

In 1802, Finland founded another colony located in OTL South Georgia island, and colony is called Sätōri.

In 1817, Finland declared war on Ternate and with the help of Nippon, the war against Ternate went well and by 1823 Ternate was conquered and turned into a Finnish puppet state called Republic of Kazami. Then, in 1828, Finland helps her best friend & ally Nippon in her war against Hanthawaddy. Soon, in 1829, the original Finnish artists who drew the Suomi-neito dies and her daughter begins to succeed her in drawing the Suomi-neito. The war with Hanthawaddy ended in 1833, and with that Finland obtained all land from the former Hanthawaddy's Venezuelan colony, and it turned into a colony called Käwäshiro.

In 1840, Finland had adopted a new flag, combining both Shinto and Finnish Paganism, the religions of Finland. However, Finland's old flag also remained official, and is used to represent the Orthodox Finns. In 1846 Haruka Kaurismäki, a lady and businesswoman founded the Suomen Rautatiet Ryhmä [Finland Railways Group].

In 1847, the continent of Etelämanner (OTL Antarctica) was discovered by Kata Pöysti, a lady. In 1852, the Republic of Kazami repealed the beauharnism ideology and closed its borders from Malouinas, and after the incident the Finnish and Kazami ships began guarding around the Republic of Kazami. However Malouinas later apologised for the trouble they cause and gave a supply of fishes to the Republic of Kazami as an apology, which the Republic of Kazami accepted both the fishes and the apology. Soon most of the Finnish and Republic of Kazami ships went home, but the Republic of Kazami were still guarded by some ships so that no more incidents happen.

In 1860 the daughter declares her younger sister, Raili Suzuki (born 1826), as the new successor in drawing the Suomi-neito. Also in 1860, Finland had begun supporting France in their conquests. Then in 1864, Finland and the Republic of Kazami had sent aid to help China against the rebels and the invading Koreans.

Finland dropped support for France around 1871-1872 and begun to support Sweden instead. By 1875, Finland became completely in ruins and new Shogun of Finland, Kanako Björklund, allows Sweden to annex Finland. Meanwhile Kanako Björklund also allowed and recognised the newly independent Shogunate of Kōshi in 1875 and wished good luck to them. In 1876, Finland became annexed by Sweden.

In 1879, Raili Suzuki had begun to teach her younger daughter, Mikaela Suzuki (born 1859) in drawing the Suomi-neito as well as becoming the new successor of drawing it when Raili Suzuki dies. Also in 1879 Kanako Björklund handed over the Republic of Kazami, Finnish puppet to the Shogunate of Kōshi, thus making it now a Shogunate of Kōshi puppet; both Empress Kaija Tanaka and Prime Minister Yuuka Järvenpää of Republic of Kazami accepted the transfer. In 1884 Sweden had sent some people from former Doitsuchou to Finland due to low population in Finland.

In 1889 Sweden broke down and soon Emperor Aukusti Seppänen took control, and renamed former Sweden into the Shogunate of Finland. Aukusti Seppänen then transferred power to his wife, Yuyuko Seppänen and made her as Empress of Finland. New elections took place electing a new Shogun, Aya Tamminen. Finland also gained control of the Baltic Alliance and soon elections were held there was well, with Katriin Mägi (female) becoming Prime Minister. In 1891, Finland sold some land to Russia, and the Baltic Alliance had been renamed into Eesti Vabariik (Republic of Estonia). In 1897, Finland established Helsinki as the political capital while Toyohokkäi (OTL Jyväskylä) was established as the imperial capital. Then in 1905 Aukusti Seppänen died and was buried. In 1906 Raili Suzuki dies at age 80 and was buried and given a special ceremony in Toyohokkäi, and the Finnish government and Mikaela Suzuki payed respects. Also in 1906 Karoliina Aaltonen, female Shintoist, had created a few cartoon strips and turns it into a film, it was labelled, 'Mystic Cherry' and it's about a lady (who very loosely resembles OTL Minoriko Aki) trying to grow cherries in her backyard; it grew popular by next year and Karoliina Aaltonen got an award from Empress Yuyuko Seppänen.

In 1909 Satoyori (さとより), Finnish kurumá company, is founded by Satomi Karjalainen (female Shintoist) in Kokkola. In 1911 Shogun Irene Yäkumö attempted to declare war on Portugal, which angered Empress Yuyuko Seppänen and caused her to drive to Helsinki, and soon Empress Yuyuko Seppänen smacked Shogun Irene Yäkumö in the face with a Japanese war fan after the Shogun threatened her to get out; Irene Yäkumö withdrew the declaration of war and was fired and soon Irene Yäkumö fled to Käwäshiro. Soon, Toyotama Jaakkola was elected as new Shogun of Finland in 1911.

In 1914, Swedish kurumá company called Volstiå was founded by Heidi Nyström (Swedish, female, Norse Paganist) and had sold kurumás for within Swedish Autonomous Prefecture. In 1923, Empress Yuyuko Seppänen died from a stroke and was buried in Koireiden Temple in Toyohokkäi, and is now referred to as her posthumous name, Empress Sasakia. Soon Sonja Komeiji (Female, Finnish paganist) becomes new Empress of Finland. In 1935, Tōhōnokia (Japanese:東方ノキア, Nirandogo: とうほうのきあ) Oy was founded by Ayumi Rahikkala [female, Shintoist) in Nokia, Finland and soon begun to rival Satomi Karjalainen's Satoyori (さとより) Company. In 1937, Empress Sonja Komeiji decided to close the borders temporary due to fear, which has frustrated Shogun Toyotama Jaakkola and Co-Commander in Chief of the Finnish Imperial Military, Rin Kivimäki (female, Shintoist). Due to Empress Sonja Komeiji's constant fears, and after meeting with the Shogun, Sonja Komeiji agreed to step down and soon Orvokki Komeiji became the new Empress of Finland.

In 1947, protests occurred in Autonomous Prefecture of Suwēden and Shogun Toyotama Jaakkola got annoyed by the Swedish protests. Soon she sent tanks and military to shut down the rebellions, and massacres happen in Kyujigöku and Mäyöhigä. Then 1947年5月4日 is remembered as the Swedish Protests of 1947, known as the Five Four Incident in Finland. In 1948, Shogun Toyotama Jaakkola tried to have the Ethnic cleansing policy in place, but all her ruthless actions were condemned by Empress Orvokki Komeiji and the Finnish government cabinet, and so she resigned and fled. Soon new Shogun Eleonoora Anaberal attempted to form a vassal out of some Swedish territory establishing the Republic of Suwēden, to hopefully end their protests. In 1949, tired of having to deal with the pressure, Shogun Eleonoora Anaberal gave the Republic of Suwēden to Denmark. In 1950, the Hakugyokurou manga, written by Empress Orvokki Komeiji, became very popular and in 1951 the characters Yuyuko Saigyouji and Youmu Konpaku became very popular and well liked in Finland.

Empress Orvokki Komeiji made her two characters from her Hakugyokurou manga, Yuyuko Saigyouji and Youmu Konpaku, to be freely used by any Finn. After the popularity of Eternal Night, Sanelma Hatoyama allowed the characters Minoriko Aki and Sirkku from the film to also be freely used by anyone. Karoliina Aaltonen also died at age 65 due to an illness, and she was buried in Helsinki, and many Finns including Shogun Eleonoora Anaberal and Empress Orvokki Komeiji had payed their respects.

Also in 1962 in city of Vantaa, Mizuki Oksanen founded the restaurant/fast food, Rin's (similar to OTL Wendy's, just that the mascot is replaced with otl Rin Kaenbyou, without the cat ears, mind).

In 1963, Shogun Yuyuko Kekkonen reorganised and turned the Finnish Imperial Military into the Finland Self-Defence Forces. Kyllikki Komeiji, Sonja Komeiji and later on Empress Orvokki Komeiji welcomed the new change and hopes that Finland can be in peace for many years to come.

Urban Areas[]

The main (political) capital is Helsinki, while Toyohokkäi (OTL Jyväskylä) is the imperial capital. Another popular city is Viipuri. Some main ports/harbours (other then Helsinki) are Naantali, Uusikaupunki, Hamina, Kokkola, Oulu, Nykarleby, Seinäkoishi and others.

Other cities, such as Kyujigöku (formerly called Stockholm), Mäyöhigä (formerly called Umeå), Skellefteå, Kiiruna, Tromsø and few others also exist, as Finland controls parts of former Sweden. Most of those cities however went to Denmark, so now Finland only controls the upper northern areas of Sweden, which has low populations.

International Relations[]

Finland is slowly gaining international reignition.

Allies[]

The old colours for different nations are follow:
Blue = Good condition - means that the ally shows no harm or anything and is helping and being friendly to Finland
Red = Risky/Cautious - Finland is very cautious about it. The nation may not be trusted enough yet, or may have other problems that causes concern.

Since Finland is maintaining neutrality and peace, a new colour system was implanted. It is similar to that of the typhoon scale. Here as follows:

Colour code 5ebaff - Calm. Finland can actually trust the nation and the nation shows no harm. The nation itself is also peaceful.
Colour code 00faf4 - Decent. Finland trusts the ally nation. Relations are good, but some off from excellent.
Colour code fdaf9a - Watch. The ally nation may pose a possible tension, or can cause problems to other nations (ie, Finland's neighbours), which in turn might harm Finland.
Colour code ff6060 - Caution! The nation poses a threat to Finland's interests or peacefulness etc. While it can still be a good ally to Finland, it can provoke other nations that could in turn possibly harm Finland.

Religion, Shintō and Finnish paganism are the official religions of Finland. Shintō became a very major religion in Finland, thanks to the spread of Nipponese culture some of the Finns have enjoyed both in their former colony and from trading port in Kōchi. Finnish paganism has seen a revival and became very popular too and soon became the second major religion in Finland; Finnish Mythology also exists too. Orthodox Christianity is extinct and, along with other variants of Christianity, are all now banned and strongly discouraged in Finland. Orthodox Churches still exist, but will soon crumble away, and only like four of them is going to be museum.

With controlling some of former Sweden (mainly the far Northern-most areas), Nordspeak and Swedish remain popular, and main religions are Norse Paganism and Shintō.

There is also a small Hindu minority as well.

Finland shall always be referred to as 'she' as most of the Finnish government is mostly feminine; and the Suomi-neito [Finnish Maiden], the official personification of Finland, is also a lady.

Finland had two official flags. The old flag of Finland, the one with the Nordic Cross, became un-used since 1950 after the last Orthodox Finn died; and now the old flag of Finland is only seen in history museums.

Finland was member of the European Council; and they left the EC in 1939. Finland also founded the Hakurei League in 1930 and maintains it.
