Differences between Presidents in Vive l'Emperor and OTL:

  • Presidents are (from 1824 election) elected directly by popular vote.
  • There is no 22nd amendment. Presidents can be re-elected as many times as they like as long so they are in successive terms, Presidents can't be renominated after losing an election (like Grover Cleveland in OTL)
  • If the Vice President resigns or dies the President must nominate a successor within 20 days, the office of Vice President must always be filled (1826 reform).
