This a List of Vice Presidents of the Confederate States. The Vice President's duty is to preside over the Confederate Senate and to break tied votes. He is also the first person in the line of succession. If the President dies, resigns or is removed from office, the Vice President would become the new president for the remainder of his term. Unlike the President of the Confederate States, the Vice President can run for more than one term.
