The Setswanan Confederation is a formal grouping of six semi-independent states that were formed from a variety of groups in the aftermath of South Africa's disolusion that came together under the leadership of Bophuthatswana.

Formation of the Confederation[]
As the flood of refugees escaping South Africa slowed in the late 90's a variety of governments began to emerge. Although the Bantustan of Bophuthatswana was the largest government in northern South Africa it was not alone nor was the only Tswana speaking government.
