Twas was the year of 1962, a time of fun at the beach, rock 'n roll, proxy wars, and nuclear threats. President Kennedy has sent troops to Vietnam to support there South Vietnamese allies after the Viet Cong decided to attack the Da Nang Air Base on January 11th, 1962. - American forces land in Vietnam. The Soviet Union secretly ships nuclear missiles to Cuba. Increased Anti-Israel Arab nationalism activity in Syria and Jordan. Anti-European Colonial movements continue their Guerrilla conflicts. The Mau-Mau rebellion is ending in Kenya. The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland is breaking up with heavy black nationalism in Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland. However the 200,000 whites in Southern Rhodesia aren't ready for black rule yet. In Ruanda-Urundi the Belgians prepare to leave. The Quebec Liberation Front is gaining some momentum in Canada but is unpopular. The war in Colombia still drags on with American arms flowing into the government.
