Post Soviet Growth:[]

After the Soviet Union's collapse European countries began to strengthen. Hungary and the now separate Czech Republic and Slovakia began to grow at a fast rate. Their militaries become some of the best in Europe. Poland also improved greatly. The Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), however, soon suffered many civil wars and internal conflicts. Belarus and Kazakhstan stayed in close ties with Russia. Ukraine desired to leave Russia behind and created close ties with other European Nations.

German Nationalism Grows:[]

Germany recovered the fastest and soon German nationalism was on the rise. The German people were once again proud of their country and began working hard. Within three years Germany's economy was booming again. Germany increased it's military size very cautiously and slowly. In late August 1997 Germany and Hungary signed a pact between them called the Nationalist Axis Pact. The pact stated that Hungary and Germany would come to each other's aid in wars. Two months later Italy and Poland were added to the pact. Germany strengthened its relationship with the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia. Germany and Poland soon became good allies.

Romania Lights the Fuse:[]

In March 1998 Romania began violent persecution of Hungarian citizens. Hungary demanded Romania put a stop to this. Romania refused and increased it's violence. Hunagry increased it's military and began amassing troops on the Romanian border to frighten Romania into stopping. Romania ignored Hungary's threat and continued persecution. Germany told Romania to stop yet Romania ignored even Germany. Germany gave the go ahead to Hungary to invade Romania in late 1999.

Hungarian Invasion of Romania:[]

In February 2000 Hunagarian troops crossed into Romania. Their intitial invasion gained much ground quickly. The Hungarians had better weaponry and were better supplied than the Romanians. Their invasion advanced to the point where 1/4 of Romania was under Hungarian control by the end of March 2000. However both sides soon found themselves at a stalemate. At the beginning of April 2000 Moldova, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Austria sent multiple attacks from different fronts on Romania breaking the ever so short stalemate. Moldova invaded the north. The Czech Republc and Austria aided the Hungarians in a huge offensive. Bulgaria invaded from the south. After another month of fighting Romania surrendered on May 5th, 2000.

NATO Reaction:[]

NATO reacted mixed at Romania's surrender. NATO didn't want a war with the Nationalist Axis. The United States and Canada decided to stay neutral in the event of a war. However they were worried that the Nationalist Axis may grow too strong. In the end a vote was put together and NATO decided to declare war on the Nationalist Axis. Their first action was to seize the Suez Canal from Egypt. Egypt became upset and sided with the Nationalist Axis. NATO's next move was to attack Siciliy. The invasion of Sicily began slowly but picked up strength and soon Sicily was captured.

Western European Theatre:[]

As a reaction to Sicily German troops quickly invaded Denmark. The invasion took less than two weeks. Germany then sent troops to southern Italy to help defend against NATO attacks. Sure enough in July 2000 NATO launched an attack on southern Italy but failed. Germany also supported the Italian and Hungarian invasions of Croatia and Slovenia. NATO decided to take a new approach and gathered it's strength in France. German and Polish troops launched a critical attack on Luxembourg forcing it into surrender. Germany then launched a secret project called Project Aquarius. They secretly sent ships to plant explosives around the Netherland's dams and coastline. Once set off the ocean flooded much of the northern half of the country. The Netherlands soon surrendered. In December 2002 German, Polish and Italian troops gathered around France's border preparing to attack.

The Scandanavian Theatre:[]

In February 2001 Polish troops crossed into Lithuania. After three and a half weeks of fighting Lithuanian surrendered. In April 2001 Poland invaded Latvia in slightly less time. In May 2001 Poland invaded Estonia with great support from Finland in the north. Later that month Estonia surrendered. After helping Poland, Finland began an invasion of Sweden. The invasion lasted until 2004 when Sweden finally surrendered.

Eastern European Theatre:[]

Late 2001 Hungary betrays Moldova by invading it. Hungary and Austria began and invasion of Macedonia and Greece in early 2002. Macedonia surrendered after a month and Greece surrendered in Novemeber of 2002. Hungary also started building up it's troops near Ukraine's border.

Turkey Allies with the Axis:[]

In late 2002 NATO realised they weren't getting anywhere fighting the Nationalist Axis on the Western Front . They developed a new strategy, to invade Hunagrian occupied Romania using the Black Sea. In order to do this they needed an ally on the Black sea. After Russia refused they turned to Turkey. Turkey also refused. NATO was determined to use Turkey as the spot of their invasion. Turkey also provided a place to liberate Greece from. NATO forces then invaded Turkey in November 2002 three days after Greece surrendered to Hungary. NATO expected an easy victory in Turkey but they were wrong. Turkey easily defeated NATO and aliied with the Nationalist Axis.
