The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (Neapolitan: Regno d''e Ddoje Sicilie; Sicilian: Regnu dî Dui Sicili), commonly known as Sicily (Sicilia), is a nation located in Southern Europe. The kingdom governs territory on the southern portions of the Italian Peninsula and the island of Sicily.
The name "Two Sicilies" is in reference to the former Kingdom of Sicily (located on the island of the same name) and the Kingdom of Naples (which commonly referred to itself as the "Kingdom of Sicily"), both of which were officially united in the early 1800s.
