Scrambled War for Colonies

League of World Empires (LWE)

The League of World Empires (LWE) (January 6th, 1898 (Proposed) June 6th, 1902 (Formal Formation) - present) is completely peaceful political, military, and civilian alliance whose ultimate goal is preserve world peace without using any horrendous method of warfare whatsoever. It is comprised of 16 world empires and their colonies and allies. The alliance was first proposed on January 6th, 1898 by its four founding member nations, the United States of America, British Empire, French Empire, and the Russian Empire. The then political leaders of these nations set out on a goal to establish and present global peace to the peoples of the world. But soon, the then proposed alliance ran into a series of events that threatened the very future of the alliance. The first of these, was the Spanish-American war, a conflict in 1898 between Spanish Empire and the United States of America, effectively the result of American intervention in the ongoing Cuban War of Independence.

Beginning on April 25th, 1898, the British, French, and Russian Empires, set on diplomatic negotiations with the Spanish Empire, hoping to end the conflict within 5 months. On August 12th, 1898, 3 months and 18 days after the war began, with the Treaty of Havana, the Cuban Independence Movement was dissolved, and the Spanish Empire, retaining its colonies and possessions in the Caribbean and the Pacific, effectively joined the fledgling alliance. The second of the events, was the Boxer Rebellion, also known as Boxer Uprising or Yihetuan Movement, was a proto-nationalist movement by the "Righteous Harmony Society" in China between 1898 and 1901, opposing foreign imperialism and Christianity. The uprising took place in response to foreign "spheres of influence" in China, with grievances ranging from opium traders, political invasion, economic manipulation, to missionary evangelism. Ever since the beginning of the conflict in Autumn 1898, the USA, Britain, France, Russia, and Spain

resolved to end the conflict and make diplomatic negotiations with the Qing Dynasty in China. Finally after 3 years of negotiations, on September 7th, 1901, the Hong Kong Protocol promised to China that there will be no further European and Japanese colonial expansion, in return for the colonizers to retain their already existing colonies and that they are to be kept under European and Japanese control. The protocol managed to bring the Empires of Japan, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Kingdom of Italy, as well as the Norwegian-Swedish Personal Union, Danish Colonial Empire, Dutch Empire, Belgian Colonial Empire, Portuguese Empire, and the Ottoman Empire into the alliance. The third and final of these of events, was the Second Boer War,

a conflict between the British Empire and the Afrikaans-speaking Dutch settlers of the Boer Republics, comprising of the South African Republic (Transvaal Republic) and the Orange Free State that began October 11th, 1899, roughly a year after the start of the Boxer Rebellion. The 15 other member nations in the alliance rushed in to aid the British Empire in diplomatic negotiations with the two independent Boer republics. On May 31, 1902, the Treaty of Cape Town permanently granted the two Boer republics their independence. Six days later, on June 6th, 1902, a full 4 and a half years after its proposal, the formation of the alliance was formally recognized with the Lisbon Peace Conference. After that day, the threat of world war was gone from the public consciousness and up to the present time, there have been no major wars.
