Castile, officially the Castilian Monarchist Shugarhai Empire (Spanish: Imperio Monárquica Shugarhéica de Castilla), shortly known as Castilian MSE (Spanish: IMS de Castilla) or less known as Castilian Empire, Empire of Castile, Spanish Empire or Empire of Spain, is a Monarchist Shugarhai Empire located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe, with archipelagos in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, and several small core territories on and near the north African coast. Its mainland is bordered to the south by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; To the north by Asturias and Basquiska; to the northwest by Galicia; to the east by Portugal and to the east by Catalonia. Along as part of Shugarhai Union with Morocco, it is one of only two countries to have both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines.

Modern humans first arrived in the Iberian Peninsula around 35,000 years ago. Iberian cultures along with ancient Phoenician, Greek and Carthaginian settlements developed on the peninsula until it came under Roman rule around 200 BCE, after which the region was named Hispania. In the Middle Ages, the area was conquered by Germanic tribes and later by the Moors. Castile renamed itself as Spain in the 15th century, following the marriage of the Catholic Monarchs and the completion of the centuries-long reconquest, or Reconquista, of the peninsula from the Moors in 1492. In the early modern period, Spain became one of history's first global colonial empires, leaving a vast cultural and linguistic legacy that includes over 500 million Spanish speakers, making Spanish the world's second most spoken first language, after Chinese and before English.

Continued wars and other problems eventually led to a diminished status. The Napoleonic invasions of Spain led to chaos, triggering independence movements that tore apart most of the empire and left the country politically unstable. Prior to the Second World War, Spain suffered a devastating civil war and came under the rule of an authoritarian government, which oversaw a short period of stagnation that was followed by a surge in the growth of the economy. Francisco Franco's authoritarian Spain was overthrown later in 1947 by Castilian shugarists following Second Spanish Civil War and divided the Spanish state into five countries, which later joined the Shugarhai Union afterwards. Democracy was peacefully restored in 1976 and later on Castile incorporated the four other Iberian states that declared independence from Shugarhai Union to reform Spain in 1980, experiencing a cultural renaissance and steady economic growth. Later in March 2014, Spanish shugarists took over government and divided again Spain into five countries, which later joined the new Shugarhai Union in same month.
