Camenbal, officially the Republic of Camenbal (French: Republique du Camenbal) is a central African republic landlocked between Mali, Nigeria, Nubia, Zanzibar, East Kongo and West Kongo.

The nation is, historically, related to both the Kongo regions as well as central Saharan and sub-Saharan Africa, making it a country of geographical extremes as well as a diverse ethnic base. From 1910 to 1945, it was the French colony of French Interior Africa - following the French Civil War, the colony was transferred to Ireland and fused with Irish Nigeria, and ten years later became independent as part of Nigeria. In the late 1960's, the culturally distant Camenbalese voted to separate from Nigeria, resulting in a seven-month war for independence followed by a civil war in the 1970's.

Today, Camenbal remains one of the poorest nations in Africa despite being internally stable since the late 1970's. It is part of the greater French geopolitical bloc and joined the CPI in 2003.
