The Prime Minister of Prussia is the head of government in Prussia. The office was created in 1872, with the end of the War of Unification and the defeat of Germany at the hands of both Prussia and France. Ferdinand Vetter was the first to fill the office after stepping down as Kaiser of the Prussian Empire.
The office is currently held by Left Party leader Klaus Earnst, as it has been since the nation's most recent election in August of 2015.
