William Sanford "Bill" Nye (born November 27, 1955), popularly known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, is an American science educator, comedian, television host, actor, former astronaut, writer, and scientist. He is best known as the host of the Disney/OrbitalTV children's science show Bill Nye the Space Guy (1993-current) and for his many subsequent appearances in the media as a science educator that encourages the sciences and space travel.
Bill Nye travel to Mars during his time with NASA and was the first person to keep a live-feed on himself for the full duration of the trip. It showed the world the these journeys had come a long way since Apollo.
