2nd Punic Victory poses the question of what would have happened had Carthage emerged from the 2nd Punic wars stronger rather than weaker. This is my first solo timeline so let's see how it goes.

Introduction[]

The major point of divergence is that Carthage comes out of the 2nd Punic war strong and in solid control of the Iberian Peninsula. This makes Carthage a lasting rival to Rome.

Differences in this Timeline[]

  • Rome and Carthage survive to modern day.
  • Julius Caesar dies in Gaul, his reforms are not made, Rome remains a republic.
  • Christianity is not made Roman state religion and is suppressed until 466, where it spreads east into Persia and Arabia.
  • Muhammad is executed for heresy, Islam never gets a foothold.
  • Roman, Egyptian and Norse polytheistic religions survive to this day as major religions in some form.
