Shogunate of Kōshi was a nation located on the Sulawesi Island. It was formally a Finnish colony until 1875. It soon ceased to exist following Empress Mikaela Tanaka's marriage in 1937, and is succeeded by the Imperial Confederation of Saigyō.

Since then, Kōshi became an autonomous state in the new Confederation, and is able to set their own laws and stuff as long it doesn't conflict with the basic constitution.

History[]

Colony of Kōshi (Finland)[]

Kōshi was originally established by Finland in 1761 though soon was re-established in 1766. Since then, Kōshi has been a part of Finland for 114 or 109 years (from 1761-1875 or 1766-1875).

Shogunate of Kōshi[]

In 1875, and seeing Finland in ruins, Kaija Tanaka (who was elected as new governor of Kōshi) peacefully declared Kōshi independent in 1875. It was soon recognised by both Kanako Björklund and the Republic of Kazami. Kanako Björklund wished them good luck as well. In 1876 Shogun Helmiina Konpaku established Reiuzi as the political capital and Harjavalta as the imperial capital (read: where the Empress lives and rules). Later in 1879 Empress Kaija Tanaka took control of the Republic of Kazami after it was transferred to them by Kanako Björklund. Around the 1880s the Shogunate of Kōshi begun to research more into technology areas and soon had Street Lights and, with the help of the Nipponese Telephone Company, telephone lines being hooked up in the nation. In 1920, Empress Kaija Tanaka established the Kūgun (Air Force) for the Shogunate of Kōshi's military. In 1921, Empress Yuyuko Seppänen of Finland gave the Finnish colony of Hyvinkää to Empress Kaija Tanaka, and she had accepted. Afterwards, the former Finnish colony of Hyvinkää had joined the Shogunate of Kōshi, and in 1922 new Prefectures were added after absorbing the former colony. In 1922, the first ever Grand Prix Kurumáilu (motor racing) in the world was held in the Shogunate of Kōshi that was established by Empress Kaija Tanaka. In 1930, Empress Kaija Tanaka, along with former Shogun Helmiina Konpaku, died in their sleep, and both had special funeral in Reiuzi; then former Empress Kaija Tanaka was buried in Toyoreiden and is now known by her posthumous name, Empress Tanatoku; while Helmiina Konpaku was buried in Yorireiden. In 1933, the Safaia Elokuva theatre was built by Empress Mikaela Tanaka to play animations and other films. In 1937, Empress Mikaela Tanaka had married Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin to form the Imperial Confederation of Saigyō and so Kōshi and Brunei merged together to form it.

Region of Kōshi[]

In 1940, Emperor Ahmad Tajuddin had drawn up a new law which promotes the Confederacy as a secular nation. This caused some problems in Kōshi, in which they tolerated most religions, except Christianity. The Kōshis had objected to having Churches being built there, as the Kōshis hated it. In 1944, few Kōshis actually spoke out against the new secular law, but decided to not say much about it and tolerate it to an extent; despite this, the Kōshis still hold their hatred of Christianity and its variants.

Name[]

The name of Kōshi originally came from the Nipponese city of a similar name. Though, Nippon's city of Kōchi in Kōchi Prefecture is spelled with a 'c' while the Shogunate of Kōshi has Kōshi spelt with an 's' in place instead. As the city of Kōchi in Kōchi Prefecture was also the place of a Finnish trading post, the Finns named their next colony after the Nipponese city of Kōchi in Kōchi Prefecture.

The Kanji is also different. While the Nipponese city of Kōchi in Kōchi Prefecture is written as 高知, the Shogunate of Kōshi has the Kanji written as 合志.

The imperial capital of Shogunate of Kōshi is Harjavalta while the political capital is Reiuzi (OTL Mowewe, Sulawesi). Other city include Pieksämäki, Futatsuiwa, Tuohikuu, Yääkumö, Watatsuki (OTL Asera, Sulawesi).

Christianity and its variants are banned and are not tolerated at all; those who practice it will be exported to another nation that does tolerate it or are put in prison and in rare cases, are executed. Islam is somewhat tolerated but to an extent. However, foreigners that come for visit or are working for shipping, trade, etc are safe, but if caught trying to spread their religion (only religion that is not tolerated or tolerated to an extent) in the Shogunate of Kōshi they will be deported back to their country of origin.

The Shogunate of Kōshi also has a very strong Anti-Swedish sentiment, though it wasn't noticed until after the fall of Sweden in 1889.

Government[]

Shogunate of Kōshi was, like it says, a Shogunate. The Empress is in control, and the Shogun is like a Prime Minister. The Shogunate of Kōshi is also (and still) pro-feminine.
