Fianna Fail was a political party formed in 1923 by Eamon Valera after a split with Sinn Fein. It existed from 1923-1950 when it merged with long-time ally The Federal Party. The two together formed The Federal-Republican Party.

Fianna Fail was described as a centre-right party and was seen as the main republican party. The party has had the most terms in office (not successive) with 3 Presidents.
