The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland is a state in southern Africa, it is a member of the British Commonwealth.
History[]
The federation was established in 1936, following the Fascist Coup in Britain, in order to ensure smooth governance in the region. Upon the establishment of the federation elections were held for the newly established Parliament of the state, which were won by the United Federal Party.
Politics[]
The politics of Rhodesia-Nyasaland are dominated by two parties, the United Federal Party, and the People's Freedom Party; whilst the Rhodesia Front held a dominant position until the establishment of majority rule in the 1970s, it has since been marginalized, no longer having any Parliamentary representation.
