In 1980, Erick Honecker, proclaimed the dawn of a "New Prussia". Due to the crackdown on Communism that occurred there, they had to choose wisely how to separate the GDR from the West. 

In 1990, Germany reunified, with many celebrating. But for some, It was difficult. Cultural Differences created by the GDR Identification Program saw the seeds of division as far back as 2001.

Russia Starts a Conflict

In 2001, A German worker proclaimed the birth of a New German Democratic Republic and appointed Katja Kipping, from The Left Party, as Chancellor.

A two-month war lead to the relinquishment of the 1990 Unification and the re-division of Germany. Berlin was also granted sovereignty and had the choice to join West Germany or stay Independent. 

The Country modeled its constitution based off Russia's. Kipping was elected Chancellor in July of 2014 and appointed Bernd Riexinger, of West Germany, as President. 

Leipzig was chosen as the Capital and construction of a parliamentary building and Presidential complex began. 


The East Germany Government was a Federal Republic with the Chancellor serving as the head of state. The Legislative Body, The Volksversammlung (Or People's Assembly) would meet at the Palast der Arbeiter in Leipzig. The Volksversammlung has two chambers, the Volkskammer (People's Chamber) and Abgeordnetenkammer (Chamber of Representatives). The Abgeordnetenkammer serves as the provisional representation body. Representatives are sent to the assembly in Leipzig to vote on issues. The Volkskammer is the main ouput of representation. Legislative Officials are elected directly by the People of East Germany. 

The Leadership Resides in the Kanzlerdorf ( from the words meaning Chancellor and Village) Near Leipzig. The Palast Der Arbeiter is where the offices are located. Kanzlerdorf has hosted parties and Russian Leaders frequently. the 250 square mile residency is one of the largest in the world.
