Dorothy Lamour Hoover (December 10, 1914 - September 22, 1996) was a prominent American actress and the First Lady of the United States when she was married to John Edgar Hoover. Noted for her natural beauty and illustrious career, she was a significant presence on the Washington social scene and was viewed as an ambassador for her relatively unpopular husband. Following his death, Lamour moved to California permanently and started the Lamour Hoover Foundation.
