The Republic of Dixie is a country in North America.

Dixie is the 13th largest country in the world by area. It is bounded by the United States on the north and west, by Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico on the south, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east.

The highest point is Guadalupe Peak in western Texas, at 2668m. The lowest point is in the city of New Orleans, at 2m below sea level. The climate is primarily humid subtropical in the southern regions, and humid continental in the north.

Independence War

Confederate and American leaders met in Baltimore on December 17 to sign the Treaty of Baltimore. The main provisions of the treaty were that:

Government and Politics

Political system

Dixie's government is a semi-presidential system, with a unicameral parliament. Members of parliament are directly elected by the people, and serve two-year terms. Half of MPs are up for reelection every year. Each state is allocated a number of MPs based on population, and MPs are elected at-large, rather than representing a portion of their state. The members of majority (or plurality) party of Parliament select a candidate for Prime Minister, who is then voted upon by the entire Parliament.

The President is elected to a six-year term, and may not be re-elected. The President also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. Typically, the President is responsible for foreign relations, and the Prime Minister for domestic issues, although this is by tradition, not by law.
