The Constitution of the Mississippian Confederation (French: La Constitution de la Confédération Mississippian, Greek: Το Σύνταγμα της Συνομοσπονδίας Μισισιπή) is the official document which outlines the functions and purposes of the government of Mississippia.

The original Constitution [will be] on display at the Epic Flying Serpent Mound. It is written in caligraphic French and Greek on a sheet of cotton grown within miles of the city of Cahokia.

History

The history of a Mississippian Constitution began with the government of the city of Cahokia. Cahokia, while governed by the Chief of Cahokia, was also under the oversight of the Council of Cahokia. This system was instituted in the region of Cahokia once Cahokia gained dominance over most of the central Mississippia River.

When Cahokia gained supremacy over Etowah, Parkin, and Moundville in the early 1400s, the system of a Great Chief of Mississippia (then, of Cahokia) and a Grand Council of Mississippia (then, of Cahokia) was instated across the realms that would make up the Mississippian Confederation.
