The Collingwood Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies, is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Formed in 1892, the club traditionally represented the inner-Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, and was based at Victoria Park in Abbotsford; the club is now based in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, playing its home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Collingwood is one of the most supported clubs within the AFL, often bringing in higher crowds than most other teams. With a current club membership of 57,201, it stands a second to Richmond, whose membership is 60,492. These high figures are often attributed to Collingwood's successful nature, appearing in 39 AFL Grand Finals, winning 14, losing 24 and drawing 1.
Collingwood's home-and-away guernsey consists of black and white stripes, matching the colours of an Australian magpie.
