timeline. Though Britain is still not a super power it does possess larger weight in world politics and military strength.
Divisions of the UK
Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Extremely similar in our timeline, with no major changes taking place. It acts as the central governing body of the United kingdom, though only really makes decisions and laws applying to the other divisions if serious intervention needed.
The third most populated division of the UK (after Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Hong Kong), different to in out timeline as the Newfoundland referenda never took place. The division often acts independently of Great Britain, having its own its own parliament and political parties.
(OTL Hong Kong island, Kowloon and Po Toi islands) Being the second most populated division as well as a major world financial center, Hong Kong is arguably the most important Overseas division of the UK. It remains part of the UK as it only handed over the New territories of Hong Kong, which the UK had gained from the opium wars.
(OTL Cayman islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and Montserrat) The remnants of the former British empire's colonies in the Caribbean.
Other areas of the UK that have too small a population or haven't developed enough to be self sufficient and therefore are unable to become proper divisions.
