In 1525, the people of Sēnlín were becoming annoyed with the Ming Dynasty's treatment of the people in their colonial nations. The rebellions were becoming more and more frequent, with more and more people crying for independence.
In the late parts of 1525, the people of Sēnlín decided to form a militia against the Ming government. They began to kill and attack the governors of their respective areas.
