China, officially the Republic of China, is a is a sovereign state located in Asia.. As the world's oldest surviving civilization, it has been enriched with tradition, culture, and history. China shares borders with Manchuria and Mongolia to the north, Korea, Laos, Tibet, Vietnam to the south, and Myanmar, to the west.

During the 19th Century, the country experienced numerous crises especially during the rise of European imperialism. In 1912, the age of dynasties ended and a republic was established. During the following years, China suffered a civil war from warlords, attacks from Japan, and the Communist movement. During 1949, China officially became Communist and went through even more decades of hardship, but during the 1980's, China underwent a massive economic reforms. These reforms backfired as this lead to the people realizing how corrupt and broken their government was which resulted in what became known as the Chinese Uprising which replaced the communist government with a democratically elected government. Since its reformation, China has experienced an economic boom and is a central economic hub in Asia.
