Charlotte II (Charlotte Alexandra Christabel Hohenzollern Stuart; born June 10, 1959) is, and has been since 2001, Queen of England.
Charlotte was born in London, the oldest child of Prince William, Duke of York and Princess Therese von Hohenzollern . She became heir apparent upon her father's succession in 1969. She ascended to the throne following her father's death in March 2001.
She attended Chelsea Ladies College, and the International School of Geneva, before studying art history at the Oxford University.
Charlotte was born on June 10, 1959 in Kensington Palace, London. She was the eldest of three children born to William, Duke of York and Princess Therese von Hohenzollern.
Charlotte married Prince Niccolo of Italy on March 5, 1992. Their first child, Lauren was born on August 4, 1996
