The Center Party of Germany (German: Deutsch Zentrumspartei), commonly referred to as Zentrum, is a center-right political catch-all party party in Germany, often referred to as "Germany's natural governing party." From the end of World War I and onward, the Center Party has sat in government more often than any party, including an absolute majority under Erwin Rommel in the 1950s. The party is Christian democratic, national conservative and anti-Communist, also being called the "party of the Cold War." It is currently in a coalition government with the Bavarian Party, the Party of Prussian Citizens and the Democratic Party under Chancellor Angela Merkel.
