[edit] History
Following the dissolution of the United States in 1788, the new nations of North and South Carolina and Georgia grew closer together, due to their simmilar culture.
In 1791, the three nations signed the Treaty of Charleston, binding them together in a confederation. South Carolina ceeded its claims to the Southwest Territory to Georgia, and in return, the capitol of the Confederancy was located in Charleston, SC.
In 1793, North Carolina and Georgia agreed to sell their claims to the Southwest Territory to the Confederancy Government.
Tennessee became a state in 1798.
Mississippi became a state in 1814.
Alabama became a state in 1817.
During the Latin American Revolutions, Carolina declared the annexation of the Republic of West Florida (territory disputed between Spain and the Confederancy). In 1824, Spain agreed to sell the area to Carolina, and West Florida became a state in 1825.
In 1830, Carolinan settlers in East Florida revolted against the Spanish. Later that year, the Confederancy declared the area a protectorate, and went to war with Spain for its possession. In 1833, Spain agreed to sell East Florida to Carolina.
East Florida became a state in 1843.
