The Cygnian Broadcasting Agency (CBA) is a Cygnian public service broadcaster. It is headquartered at CBA Tower in Swanstone, and is one of the largest broadcasters in the world by number of employees, with over 20,950 staff in total, of whom 16,672 are in public sector broadcasting; including part-time, flexible as well as fixed contract staff, the total number is 35,402.
The CBA is established under an Imperial Charter and operates under its Agreement with the Imperial Secretariat for Culture, Media and Sport. Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all Cygnian households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts. The fee is set by the Cygnian Government, agreed by Congress, and used to fund the CBA's extensive radio, TV, and online services covering the states of Cygnia. From 1 April 2014, it also funds the CBA International Service, launched in 1954, which provides comprehensive TV, radio, and online services in Chinese and French, and broadcasts in 28 languages.
Around a quarter of CBA revenues come from its commercial arm CBA International Ltd. which sells CBA programmes and services internationally and also distributes the CBA's international 24-hour English language news services CBA Global News and CBA.com, provided by CBA Global News Ltd.
