[edit] Creation

In 2019, Eastern Orthodox Christians, Shi'a Muslims, and other minority groups in Turkey campaigned for a nation separate from Turkey. The location would include Northern (European) Turkey, Southeastern Bulgaria, Eastern Greece, and Northern Cyprus. The UN supported this idea, but Turkey refused. Because of this, they ceceded, forming the Byzantine Republic in 2020. The Turks were furious! They invaded the Byzantine Republic in early 2021. The Byzantines, with the help of Illyrians, Poles, Armenians, and the UN, easily defeated the Turks. The capital became Istanbul, which was renamed Constantinople.

[edit] Early History

The early ethnic groups mainly included Armenians, Turks, Slavs (mostly Bulgarians and Poles), Greeks, Illyrians, and Balkanites (Balkan Slavs (Serbs, etc.) and Romanians).
