History[]
In 933, the king of Upper Burgundy, Rudolph II, signed a treaty with the king of Italy, Hugh of Arles, in which Rudolf was granted Lower Burgundy in return for giving up his claim to the Italian throne. Rudolph married off his daughter, Adelaide, to Hugh's son Lothar. Rudolph ruled until his death in 937.
