Britain, officially the British Republic, known at the time as simply "The Republic" and today known as the "Old Republic", was a sovereign state located in the British Isles of Northern Europe. It existed from 1917 until 2012, when Chancellor Peter Robinson proclaimed the British Empire and crowned himself emperor.
Founding of the Republic
The Republic was founded out of a sense of anger and betrayal toward the British monarchy, specifically at the embarrassment of the poor leadership during the Great War. During what is known as the "Fall of the Empire", Republican partisans stormed Windsor Castle during a family banquet, and murdered every member of the British Royal Family. A republic was proclaimed under Winston Churchill who unleashed a Reign of Terror, imprisoning, murdering or otherwise exiling monarchists and counter-revolutionaries.
