The Colonization of China was a period of colonization between 1818-1855 in which China was split into multiple nations, and eventually two-thirds of these nations eventually became colonies or protectorates of the British empire and contributed significantly to the British Empire. For the most part Colonization has never ended as over 40 million people of European descent live in Southern China.
