Blythe Steelworks, Inc. (NYSE: BLS), also known as simply Blythe Steel (and formerly Walton Manufacturing) is an American multinational conglomerate corporation and Fortune 500 company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. One of the fifteen largest steel producers and manufacturers in the United States, Blythe Steel was initially founded in 1908 in Tennessee as Walton Manufacturing, a producer of auto parts that saw major expansion with the United States’ entry into World War I in late 1917. The majority shareholder and current CEO is Bill Blythe, son of William Blythe, Jr., an Arkansas businessman who first acquired stock in Walton Manufacturing in 1953.
