A Short History of the Province of Belgica[]

Belgica, being part of the Gallic coutnries and hence the full name of Gallia Belgica, was for a long time one of the most Northern Provinces. It was dominated by the Roman military becaue of its proximity to the border. However, after Marcus Aurelius and his conquest of Germania the Province of Belgica began to center on the expansion of their cultural abilities. However, all of Gaul was dominated by the Province of Aquitania and brought under its hegemony. After the fall of Aquitania during the Frankish Revolution Belgica and Lugdunensis joined to form the new Province of Francia. Due to the violence from both Aquitania and from the Frankish Revolution fighting Aquitania, there are no records of Governors of Belgica.
