In this timeline, the Egyptians defeated the Persians at the Battle of Belusium, resulting in pharaonic Egypt remaining a fully independent state. Over a period of time, this affected the world, leading to the formation of new nations, and significantly different religious ideals.

It is worth noting, that democracy is much more limited in this world, and the majority of the world powers are monarchies, or autocratic in some form or fashion. Constitutional monarchies due exist, but even then, the monarch holds significant sway in state affairs. The only two remaining absolute monarchies are the Kingdom of Ghana, and the Aztec Hegemony.
The only democratic governments are the Roman Republic, Free African Union, Tribal Federation, and Plains Confederacy. The Republic of Mesopotamia is a military dictatorship.
