The Ban of Silesia (Silesian: Ślůnske Bán), currently Franciszek Wikóz, is the partisan leader of the Silesian Sabor. The Ban has recently emerged as the head of government for domestic affairs and is in charge of appointing the majority of members of the civil service.

Elected at the beginning of every session of the Sabor, the Ban must have the support of the majority of the body's members at all times or face a vote of no confidence. This is especially problematic for many Bans, as it is extremely rare to an outright majority in the Sabor due to its multi-party nature.
