Baltic German

The flag used by the Landeswehr.

Baltische Landeswehr was a German military force that was active during World War I, and later in the Russian Civil War. Formed by the Germans, it was loyal to the United Baltic Duchy, which was also called Livonia. It played a minor role in the Russian Civil War by fighting the Bolsheviks on the Western Front. However, in 1919, the army revealed it's intent to make Livonia a German protectorate. To counter this, the Duchy raised an ethnic Estonian and Latvian army, the Livonian Army, to destroy the Landeswehr. It did so with the help of the Russian National Army's Northwestern Front.
