Axis Triumph is a scenario in which the Axis Powers are victorious in World War II, causing vast geopolitical, economic, and social changes to the world. Main Points of Divergence:
World War II began as it did in actuality, on September 1, 1939. Germany invaded Poland, along with Slovakia and the Soviet Union. The war continued as it did in actual history, with the invasion of other countries (France, Yugoslavia, Greece, etc). Operation Barbarossa began on June 22, 1941. The operation was highly successful. The Battle of Moscow ended with a German victory, but the Soviet Union continued to fight. Soviet forces were heavily demoralized, and the Soviet leadership fled to the city of Ufa in the south. The Battle of Stalingrad occurred much quicker, and was a German victory as well. Soviet troops began a full retreat to the Ural Mountains line in March 1943. In the final Siege of Ufa, the Soviet leadership was either killed or captured. Stalin committed suicide minutes before German forces stormed his bunker.
France was captured in the same way as in reality, and Vichy France was established. In June 1943, Operation Sealion was commenced by Germany after the near annihilation of the British Royal Air Force. The invasion of the British mainland marked the defeated of the British in the war, however, the Axis took heavy casualties and were faced by a guerrilla movement. Hitler personally visited London with Mussolini in November 1943. Operation Tannenbaum, a campaign to invade Switzerland by Germany, is successful also, after Sealion.
On the front in Asia, Admiral Yamamoto's decisive battle at Midway went well for the Japanese, and much of the United States Pacific Fleet was destroyed. The Japanese continued to advance, and in September 1942, the invasion of Hawaii began. After four months of intense close combat on all islands, the Rising Sun flew over Honolulu. The Japanese proposed a treaty to the United States government, which greatly favored the Empire of Japan. But with the American fleet at the bottom of the Pacific, they did not have much bargaining power, and were forced to accept the outrageous terms. On September 16, 1944, ambassadors of all nations involved gathered in Berlin, where final negotiations began, and the war was proclaimed over with an Axis victory on September 24, 1944.
